Directions for Using Periogen®

Congratulations on getting started with Periogen® Complete Oral Rinse, your path to oral health! You have chosen a product that is clinically proven to prevent and reduce plaque and tartar buildup. There are several methods to apply Periogen, and all are simple.

For all methods described below, brush with Periogen toothpaste first and then use Periogen Oral Rinse.

Swishing Method

Using enclosed swishing cup, mix 1/2 scoop (1/8 tsp.) of Periogen powder and 1/2 cup (118 ml) water. Swish portion of mixture in mouth for three 20 second intervals, spitting after each interval or as directed by your dental professional.

You may premix Periogen according to above ratios and store in a tightly sealed container. Periogen does not contain preservatives so discard remaining mixture after 2 weeks.

Brushing Method

Prepare Periogen solution as you would for Swishing Method above. Dip your toothbrush into the solution and brush all quadrants including the gum-tooth margin. If you would like, swish with the remaining solution.

Oral Irrigator Method

Oral irrigators, also called water flossers, have reservoirs that typically hold about 2 cups (473 ml) of liquid. In the reservoir, mix 1 scoop (1/4 tsp.) of Periogen per 1 cup (236 ml) water. Irrigate all quadrants of your mouth. Run the tip along the margin between each of your teeth and the gum. Don't forget the back sides of the rear molars as these areas can be easily missed.

Note: For aged or tenacious tartar, double the above ratios for the first 2 weeks or until desired results are achieved and then reduce to standard dose. Always replace lid after use. Do not remove desiccant packet.

*As a guideline you can eat or drink 30min. after using Periogen.
