Gingivitis
Gingivitis is defined as inflammation of the supragingival gum tissue. Gingivitis is an irritation of the gums caused by tartar that forms on the teeth around the gum-tooth margin. These microscopic tartar house bacteria accumulations which produce toxins that cause inflammation of the gums.
The dissolution of tartar with regular Periogen use eliminates the primary cause of gingivitis. For pockets 2mm or less, Periogen may be simply swished around the mouth for one minute to soften and dissolve supragingival tartar. |
